Everyone is speculating that this may well be the biggest
Intake Chamber built for the North Sea ! With the pictures seen
above you can really start to appreciate its true size. This
project took a collaborative effort from the Acoustics team and
worked side by side with our clients from the design phase to
delivery. Like all projects delivered, communication and
flexibility was our key for success. Soon this intake chamber and
our sound attenuator (below) will be installed on a platform in the
North Sea with a possibility of being a record breaker.
- Dimensions: 6.5m wide x 6.5m depth x 2.5m high
- High Effective water separation by use of Weather Louvers
- Water drainage inclusive water traps (back draft valves)
- 60 Filter elements
- "Built-in" solution for gas detectors
- Structural & Blast load calculations
The combination of this Sound Attenuator with the Intake
Chamber (above) will be installed together. Both will help
distribute airflow throughout the platform along with reducing
noise in order to comply with HSE requirements and noise control
regulations in the North Sea.
- Dimensions: 6.6m wide x 2.8 high x 2.0m long
- Sound reduction 28 dB(A)
- Airflow: 273,200 m3/h
